Curtiss Boat Launch Update

For the past couple of years, on behalf of the HLPOA, one of our members, Drew Callender has been working with the Township to address safety concerns raised regarding the Curtiss Boat Launch.  Specifically, Drew has requested the removal of the concrete pads and for the Township to perform regular maintenance on the road.

The Township has recently agreed that the concrete pads should be removed and are expecting to include this in their 2024 budget for removal in 2024.  In addition, they will be more closely monitoring the grading needs of the road into the boat launch and working with public works to address concerns.  Thank you to Drew for his ongoing diligence in this area.

(HLPOA)

The HLPOA acknowledge the lands and waters on which we meet, are the traditional homelands of the First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples. Our beautiful lakes are fed from the north and flow to the south. We therefore acknowledge the Algonquin and Mississauga peoples as well as the governance of the Williams Treaties. We wish to express gratitude to Mother Earth, the resources we are using, and honour all Indigenous people who have been and continue to live on these lands.
