Horseshoe Lake Property Owners Association (HLPOA)

Top 6 Reasons to Join the Horseshoe Lake Property Owners Association (HLPOA)

1.     Support a Safe, Healthy and Sustainable Lake

We all want to be able to enjoy our lake now and for many years to come.  Your membership helps support the water quality testing program, water safety signage, hazard markers, ongoing research on the changes in the health of our lake and support our involvement and advocacy in the greater lake community.  You will be better informed about what you as a property owner can do to contribute to the overall health and safety of Horseshoe and Mirror Lake.

2.     Stay Informed

You and up to three others involved with your property are eligible to receive our Keeping in Touch e-news which will be published at least 10-12 times throughout the year.

You will also have access to our members only portal on our website and our private Facebook group.  Through these various communications, you will receive pertinent, timely and relevant information that will help you stay current on key aspects related to your property ownership on Horseshoe Lake.

3.     Participate in our Events

Currently we have three flagship events that happen in the summer.  There is a Kids Fishing Derby, an Evening Boat Parade and a Golf Tournament.

4.     Support Those in Need in the Community

As an association the HLPOA donates annually to several charities in the Minden and Haliburton community, supporting services for those in need.  We also encourage our members to make donations in the local community.

5.     FOCA (Federation of Cottage Associations) Benefits

As a member of the HLPOA, you have access to a range of benefits offered to FOCA member associations.  Click here to learn more https://foca.on.ca/member-services/benefits/

The HLPOA acknowledge the lands and waters on which we meet, are the traditional homelands of the First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples. Our beautiful lakes are fed from the north and flow to the south. We therefore acknowledge the Algonquin and Mississauga peoples as well as the governance of the Williams Treaties. We wish to express gratitude to Mother Earth, the resources we are using, and honour all Indigenous people who have been and continue to live on these lands.
