Annual Kids Fishing Derby - 2024
Calling all Horseshoe Lake kids up to age 15!
Pictured is the 2023 Fishing Derby Gang. Make plans to get your kids involved in this year's awesome event!
Event Details
1. Fishing begins at 7AM and goes until 2PM. Weigh in, hotdogs, drinks and prizes at 2PM at 1240/1248 Reynolds Road. All participants and their families are welcome!
2. Kids up to 15 years of age are eligible to participate.
3. Derby headquarters is located at 1240/1248 Reynolds Road. If coming by car, we have some parking. If coming by boat, look for the derby sign on the dock!
4. Please make sure you register and click the number of participants so we know how many prizes, hotdogs and drinks to have on hand. Click the Register button on this page.
Event Rules & Prize Categories
Eligible fish for entry fall into three categories:
- Largest Bass - Smallmouth or Largemouth
- Largest Walleye
- Largest Panfish (Rock Bass, Sunfish, Perch or Crappie
Each entrant can only win one 1st, 2nd or 3rd place prize.
ALL registered kids will be entered into a grand prize draw.
How To Enter Your Catch
Bass, Walleye and Panfish will be weighed. Bring your fish alive to be weighed in at the derby headquarters. It is important to keep your catch alive so you may weigh in at any time during the day and then go back out and try to catch a bigger one! All fish will be released back to the lake once they are weighed in.
PRIZES
We are still looking for prizes for the kids. The prizes do not have to be fishing related. But we want to make the day memorable for all of our participants so your help with prizes is greatly appreciated!
