HLPOA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Tuesday, June 17th | 7:00–8:30 PM (via Zoom)

Join us for the HLPOA’s Annual General Meeting—an opportunity to stay informed and engaged with your lake community.

What to Expect:

Update from Mayor Bob Carter: Hear directly from the Minden Hills Mayor about current local issues.
Special Presentation on Rodenticides: Horseshoe Laker Allison Hansen will present important information on the harmful effects of rodenticides on pets, wildlife, our lake environment, and human health.
Cottage Association Updates: Meet your HLPOA president and board of directors, and learn about plans that support the enjoyment and sustainability of our beautiful lake area.

The AGM will once again be held virtually via Zoom on a weekday evening. We've received great feedback that this format is convenient and helps members avoid giving up a weekend day to attend.

Important Information About the AGM

As a current HLPOA member, you and your family are encouraged to attend.

As a not-for-profit corporation, the HLPOA is required to hold an AGM within six months of our fiscal year-end (December 31). During the AGM, we will:

Present and approve the financial statements
Elect board members
Handle other required business

A formal agenda and final AGM details will be sent to registered members on June 1, 2025. The agenda will include motions and background documents for review. One person per HLPOA membership is entitled to vote. A minimum of 25 voting members must be registered to meet quorum and begin the meeting.

If you wish to present specific business at the AGM, please submit your proposal to horseshoelakeminden@gmail.com by May 20, 2025. Include enough detail for members to understand and vote on the matter.

We also continue the tradition of honoring HLPOA members from the Horseshoe and Mirror Lake communities who have passed away in the past year with a moment of silence. If you know of someone who should be recognized, please let us know at horseshoelakeminden@gmail.com.

The HLPOA acknowledge the lands and waters on which we meet, are the traditional homelands of the First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples.
