2026 Annual Kids Fishing Derby

Sunday, August 2nd, 2026

Derby Hours:  8:00 AM to 12 Noon

Weigh-In & Hot Dogs:  12 Noon

1240/ 1248 Reynolds Road

  • All HLPOA members and family/guests are welcome.  Kids up to 15 years of age can participate.
  • Derby Headquarters is located at 1240/1248 Reynolds Rd. If coming by car we have some parking available.  If coming by boat look for the derby sign on the dock.
  • Fishing begins at 8am and goes until 12pm.
  •  Hot dogs, drinks and prizes from 12pm-1pm
  • Prizes will be based on biggest fish.  Bass, Walleye and Panfish (Rock bass, Sunfish, Perch or Crappie) will all be eligible but keep your biggest fish only, regardless of the species.  You may weigh in at any time during the day and then go back out and try to catch a bigger one!  All fish will be released back to the lake once they are weighed in. It is important to keep your fish alive as we will only accept live fish at the weigh in.
  • All registered kids will be entered into a grand prize draw.
  • It is our goal to make this day memorable for all participants and have each kid leave with a prize. So, any donations you can make towards prizes would be greatly appreciated!

The HLPOA acknowledge the lands and waters on which we meet, are the traditional homelands of the First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples. Our beautiful lakes are fed from the north and flow to the south. We therefore acknowledge the Algonquin and Mississauga peoples as well as the governance of the Williams Treaties. We wish to express gratitude to Mother Earth, the resources we are using, and honour all Indigenous people who have been and continue to live on these lands.

Horseshoe Lake Property Owners association is committed to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion in which every member, their family and friends are treated with respect and dignity.
